Rewards

Access / Unlocks
Choose exactly two rewards from the final roomPermanent personal Mathemagics number: 1, 13, 49 or 94

Quest Notes

Follow the legend of Hugo through four NPCs, solve every physical puzzle in Paradox Tower, answer the Riddler twice, learn your permanent Mathemagics number from A Prisoner in Hellgate and finally choose exactly two of four rewards.

Objective: Complete the lore chain, enter the tower using four skulls, solve all tower mechanisms, survive the Riddler's first trap, obtain your personal Mathemagics number, return to the tower and answer the complete examination correctly.

Walkthrough

  1. Prepare eight skulls, the four fruits, both chess knights and full travel supplies before beginning.
  2. Complete the Hugo lore chain in strict order: Oldrak, Zoltan, Padreia and Lubo. The exact keywords are listed below.
  3. Travel to Paradox Tower, place four skulls on the four entrance tiles and step onto the entrance mechanism. The skulls are replaced by poison fields.
  4. Solve every physical puzzle in the tower: dead tree, grass switches, Ghoul Box, six levers, fruit puzzle and chess puzzle.
  5. Reach Riddler and complete his first examination. The final 1 + 1 question is a trap on the first visit and sends you to Hellgate even after correct earlier answers.
  6. In Hellgate, find A Prisoner. Ask about Mathemagics and repeat exactly the same favourite colour chosen with Riddler. Write down the permanent number he gives you.
  7. Escape Hellgate, return to Paradox Tower with four more skulls and repeat the entire tower route.
  8. Answer Riddler's seal questions again, give the same favourite colour and then answer the final calculation with your personal number.
  9. Enter the reward room and choose exactly two different rewards. After the second successful claim, the quest is completed in the Quest Log.

Complete Two-Visit Puzzle Guide

Part 1 — The Hugo Lore Chain

These conversations unlock the Riddler examination. Complete them in this exact order.

Complete step-by-step
  1. Find Oldrak in the temple area of Kazordoon. Say hi, hugo, myth, yenny the gentle.
  2. Find Zoltan in Edron. Say hi, yenny the gentle, crunor's caress.
  3. Find Padreia in Carlin. Say hi, crunor's caress, footnote, crunor's cottage.
  4. Find Lubo near Mount Sternum. Say hi, crunor's cottage, flower guys, accident, stable.
  5. After Lubo confirms the final part of the story, the first Riddler examination becomes available.
Exact NPC keywords

Zoltanhiyenny the gentlecrunor's caress
Padreiahicrunor's caressfootnotecrunor's cottage

Important route notes
  • Do not skip NPCs. Each conversation records a separate quest stage.
  • Oldrak still sells the Holy Tible; buying it is not required for Paradox Tower.

Part 2 — Entering and Climbing Paradox Tower

Four skulls are consumed on each entry. Every puzzle must be solved to reach Riddler.

Items for this route
  • 4 Skulls for this visit
  • Apple, Banana, Cherry and Grape
  • White Knight and Black Knight
  • Rope, shovel, pick and combat supplies
Complete step-by-step
  1. Reach the Paradox Tower entrance north-west of Kazordoon. Place one skull on each of the four marked entrance tiles.
  2. Step onto the entrance mechanism. You must be level 30+, Premium and have all four skulls positioned correctly. They are consumed and become poison fields.
  3. Proceed through the tower carefully. The dead tree is a trap: using or crossing it can deal up to 200 damage and creates poison fields.
  4. Solve the grass-floor sequence and activate the Ghoul Box. Do not repeatedly trigger the box; it is protected against duplicate creation.
  5. Set the six levers to the correct combination. The ladder appears only after the final lever matches the required arrangement.
  6. Place exactly one Apple, Banana, Cherry and Grape on the designated fruit tiles. The fruits are consumed when the arrangement is accepted.
  7. Place one White Knight and one Black Knight on their matching chess tiles. Both pieces are consumed and the next ladder appears.
  8. Use Key 3899 when required. The key is granted once and is not consumed by a failed inventory transfer.
  9. Continue to the top floor and approach Riddler.
Important route notes
  • Do not carry only four skulls unless another player can supply the return set.
  • Wait for each ladder or mechanism to appear before moving items again.
  • The tower contains dangerous creatures and environmental damage; heal before operating puzzle objects.

Part 3 — First Riddler Examination

The first visit always ends in Hellgate. Correct answers are still required to unlock A Prisoner.

Complete step-by-step
  1. Greet Riddler and begin the examination.
  2. Answer the seal questions in order with: Goshnar, Demonbunny, Tha'kull, Breath, Silence and Old.
  3. When asked for your favourite colour, choose a simple colour word and remember the exact spelling. The answer is permanently recorded for this character.
  4. Answer None when asked for the final non-mathematical response.
  5. Riddler then asks 1 + 1. On the first visit this is deliberately impossible: regardless of an ordinary answer, you are sent to Hellgate.
  6. Correctly completing the earlier answers is essential. Wrong answers also send you to Hellgate but do not unlock the Mathemagics progression.
Exact NPC keywords
Riddler — seal answersGoshnarDemonbunnyTha'kullBreathSilenceOld
Riddler — personal answers<your favourite colour>None
Important route notes
  • Write down the colour exactly as entered.
  • Being teleported to Hellgate does not by itself prove the examination was correct. Check that A Prisoner accepts the Mathemagics conversation.

Part 4 — Hellgate and A Prisoner

Learn the character's permanent Mathemagics number before returning to the tower.

Complete step-by-step
  1. After the teleport, navigate Hellgate until you find A Prisoner. This is the Paradox Tower prisoner, not the unrelated ordinary prisoner NPC.
  2. Say hi, number. You may also use math, 1+1, 1 + 1 or one plus one to start the Mathemagics conversation.
  3. When asked, type exactly the same favourite colour chosen with Riddler.
  4. A Prisoner permanently assigns one of four numbers: 1, 13, 49 or 94.
  5. Write the number down. Repeating the conversation will not generate a different number.
  6. Leave Hellgate and return to Kazordoon. Prepare four new skulls before climbing the tower again.
Exact NPC keywords

Alternative start wordsmath1+11 + 1one plus one
Important route notes
  • The number is unique to the character and remains the same permanently.
  • The Mad Mage password and apple dialogue on this NPC are a separate quest and are not required here.

Part 5 — Second Riddler Examination

Repeat the tower and prove that you learned Mathemagics.

Items for this route
  • 4 more Skulls
  • The same puzzle items if the tower has reset
  • Your written favourite colour and permanent number
Complete step-by-step
  1. Enter Paradox Tower again using four skulls and repeat all required physical puzzles.
  2. At Riddler, repeat the same six seal answers: Goshnar, Demonbunny, Tha'kull, Breath, Silence and Old.
  3. Give exactly the same favourite colour as on the first visit.
  4. Answer None at the corresponding question.
  5. When Riddler asks the final calculation, answer with the personal number received from A Prisoner: 1, 13, 49 or 94.
  6. A correct number teleports you to the reward room. Any wrong answer sends you back to Hellgate.
Exact NPC keywords
Riddler — repeated seal answersGoshnarDemonbunnyTha'kullBreathSilenceOld
Riddler — final answers<same favourite colour>None<your number: 1, 13, 49 or 94>
Important route notes
  • Do not guess the number. Only the number stored by A Prisoner is accepted.
  • The favourite colour comparison is exact; use the same word and spelling.

Part 6 — Reward Room

Choose exactly two different rewards. The third and fourth choices are permanently blocked.

Complete step-by-step
  1. Inspect all four reward positions before using any of them.
  2. Available choices are: 10,000 gp; Wand of Cosmic Energy; 32 Talons; Phoenix Egg.
  3. Use the first desired reward. It is granted only if your inventory has enough capacity and space.
  4. Use a second, different reward. After it is granted, the quest is marked complete in the Quest Log.
  5. Do not attempt to take all four. The system records each choice and blocks a third reward permanently.
Important route notes
  • The 10,000 gp option is one complete reward choice, not an extra reward.
  • A failed attempt caused by insufficient capacity does not consume the choice.
  • The Phoenix Egg is the special quest item, not a normal egg.

Dathoria Tips

  • Carry eight skulls from the beginning so the Hellgate trip does not leave you unable to re-enter the tower.
  • Use one simple lower-case colour word and write it down together with your Mathemagics number.
  • Take screenshots of the six-lever combination and puzzle rooms after solving them; this makes the second climb faster.
  • Before choosing rewards, calculate capacity for the Wand, Talons or Phoenix Egg. The script only records a choice after successful delivery.
  • Test the route with a well-supplied character: Hellgate and the tower are more dangerous than the level 30 requirement suggests.
