Requirements
- Free Account characters may complete the quest; Premium Account is not required.
- There is no mandatory level door. Level 6 or higher is recommended for new players because the route contains Trolls, Orcs, Minotaurs and one Bear.
- Bring a Pick to reveal the hidden hole leading to Key 4601. A character who already owns a working Key 4601 may skip the pick-hole step.
- Bring a Rope for the classic cave route and safe return through rope spots.
- Keep several free inventory slots and enough capacity for a 100 oz Chain Armor, a 27 oz Brass Helmet and the reward Bag.
- Food, basic healing and a shield are strongly recommended. A second player can help block the Minotaur or Bear, but a party is not required.
- Premium is not required by the detected Dathoria quest data
- Related access/quest: Present Quest
Required Materials
| Sprite | Item | Quantity | Obtained from | Observations |
|---|
 | Pick | 1 | Tool shops or another player | Use it on the exact mud tile immediately south of the large table in the Orc and Minotaur room. |
 | Rope | 1 | Tool shops or another player | Required for rope spots on the traditional Rookgaard cave route. |
The Pick does not give the key directly. It transforms the correct floor tile into a temporary hole. The Key 4601 is reusable and is not consumed when the locked Bear Room door is opened. The lever controls only the blocking stone. It does not unlock the door and does not complete the quest. The nearby Present Quest chest is a different quest and is not one of the three Bear Room reward chests.
Rewards
Access / Unlocks
Copper Key marked 4601 from the hidden key chest.Permanent access while carrying the reusable Key 4601.The quest is recorded as complete only after all three main Bear Room reward chests have been claimed.Quest Notes
Explore the northern Rookgaard caves, cross the Troll, Orc and Minotaur levels, reveal the hidden pick hole beside the large table, collect the Copper Key marked 4601 and use the nearby lever to remove the stone blocking the Bear Room. Open the locked door, defeat or avoid the Bear and collect all three independent rewards: Chain Armor, Brass Helmet and a Bag containing 12 Arrows and 40 Gold Coins.
Objective: Obtain Key 4601 from the hidden underground chest, open the Bear Room and claim all three reward chests without confusing them with the separate Present Quest chest beside the lever.
Walkthrough
- Prepare a Pick, Rope, food, healing and enough free capacity. The heaviest single reward is the 100 oz Chain Armor.
- Leave Rookgaard town toward the abandoned northern building and descend into the underground cave system.
- Follow the passages through the Rat and Troll sections, then continue downward through the Orc areas until you reach the large room containing Orcs, a Minotaur, a large table and barrels.
- Clear the creatures before using the Pick. Stand beside the large table and use the Pick on the exact mud tile immediately south of it.
- Enter the temporary hole, open the underground quest chest and take the Copper Key marked 4601. Use the ladder to return to the main room.
- Find the lever north of the large table, beside the separate Present Quest chest. Pull the lever until the stone at the Bear Room corridor is removed.
- Walk to the corridor east/north-east of the room and use Key 4601 on the locked door. The key remains in your inventory.
- Enter the Bear Room and defeat or avoid the single Bear. Open all three independent reward chests: Chain Armor, Brass Helmet and the Bag with 12 Arrows and 40 Gold Coins.
- Check every chest before leaving. Opening only one or two does not finish the complete reward set.
- Return through the locked door, or use the sewer inside the Bear Room if the lever stone blocks the main corridor. The sewer route contains four Spiders and a ladder back to the central cave.
Complete Step-by-Step Guide
Part 1 — Reach the Orc and Minotaur Room
Travel through the classic northern Rookgaard caves to the large table room.
Items for this route
- Pick
- Rope
- Food or healing
- Shield and basic weapon
Complete step-by-step
- From Rookgaard town, travel north to the abandoned building and descend into the caves.
- Continue through the first underground passages containing Rats, Spiders and Trolls.
- Use the normal ladders, holes and rope spots to continue deeper toward the Orc caves.
- Fight or carefully pass the Orcs on the lower levels.
- Reach the large final room containing Orcs, one Minotaur, a large table, barrels, the hidden pick tile and the stone lever.
- Kill or lure the creatures before interacting with the floor or lever. The Minotaur is the main danger for an under-equipped Rookgaard character.
Important route notes
- No NPC dialogue activates this quest. You may enter the cave and take the key immediately.
- There is no level, vocation, Premium or party requirement.
- Do not enter with nearly full capacity; the Chain Armor alone weighs 100 oz.
Part 2 — Reveal the Hidden Hole and Obtain Key 4601
Use the Pick on one exact floor tile beside the large table.
Items for this route
- 1 Pick
- One free inventory slot
- At least 1 oz free capacity
Complete step-by-step
- Locate the large table in the Orc and Minotaur room.
- Stand beside the mud floor tile immediately south of the table, between the table area and the nearby barrels.
- Use the Pick directly on that exact tile. Using it on the table, barrels or adjacent floor tiles does nothing.
- The floor temporarily becomes a hole. Step into it to reach the small underground key room.
- Open the quest chest and receive a Copper Key whose description shows Key 4601.
- Climb the ladder to return to the Orc and Minotaur room before the hole decays.
Important route notes
- If the key chest says it is empty, that character has already claimed its Key 4601.
- The key is reusable, movable and tradable. It is not consumed by the Bear Room door.
- A normal Copper Key without the correct 4601 attribute will not open the door.
- Obtaining the key is only the access step; it is not the final reward.
Part 3 — Remove the Stone and Open the Bear Room
The lever moves the corridor stone; Key 4601 opens the locked door.
Items for this route
- Key 4601
- Combat supplies for one Bear
Complete step-by-step
- Return to the main room and locate the lever north of the large table.
- The chest beside this lever belongs to the separate Present Quest. Do not mistake it for a Bear Room reward chest.
- Pull the lever and check the corridor leading to the locked Bear Room door.
- If the stone is still blocking the path, pull the lever once more to place it in the open state.
- Walk through the cleared corridor and use Key 4601 on the locked door.
- Open the door and enter. The key stays with your character for future visits.
Important route notes
- The lever state is global. Another player can move the stone while you are inside.
- The lever does not open the locked door; you still need Key 4601.
- The door does not require a level or quest storage.
Part 4 — Claim All Three Bear Room Rewards
The Bear is normal; the three reward chests are independent and one-time per character.
Items for this route
- 100 oz free capacity for Chain Armor
- 27 oz free capacity for Brass Helmet
- Space for the reward Bag
Complete step-by-step
- Defeat or avoid the Bear inside the room. It is a normal monster and does not need to die for the chests to work.
- Open the Chain Armor chest and confirm that one Chain Armor enters your inventory.
- Open the Brass Helmet chest and confirm that one Brass Helmet enters your inventory.
- Open the third chest and confirm that you receive a Bag containing exactly 12 Arrows and 40 Gold Coins.
- Recheck the room before leaving. Each chest is independent, so missing one leaves part of the reward unclaimed.
- Each reward chest becomes empty only for the character that already claimed it.
Important route notes
- Insufficient capacity or inventory space does not consume the reward. Make room and use the chest again.
- The quest completion is recorded after all three main rewards have been collected.
- Loose weapons, coins or other objects around the room are normal map respawns and are not the permanent quest rewards.
Part 5 — Leave Safely
Use the main door or the emergency sewer route if the stone closes behind you.
Complete step-by-step
- Normally, return through the locked door and walk back through the corridor.
- If another player closes the lever stone and blocks the main route, use the sewer inside the Bear Room.
- Follow the lower passage and defeat or avoid the four Spiders.
- Use the ladder at the end to return to the central Orc and Minotaur cave.
- Retrace the cave route to Rookgaard town using the Rope where required.
Important route notes
- The sewer is a permanent emergency exit and does not require the key or a storage.
- Do not log out expecting the stone to reset immediately; use the sewer if the corridor is blocked.
- You may return to the Bear Room later with Key 4601, but previously claimed reward chests remain empty for that character.

-Dathoria Tips
- Bring more than 130 oz of free capacity so you can carry the Chain Armor and Brass Helmet without returning early.
- Clear the Orcs and Minotaur before opening the pick hole; taking damage while positioning on the exact tile is the most common cause of mistakes.
- After pulling the lever, visually confirm that the corridor stone disappeared before walking toward the door.
- Open all three reward chests. The Chain Armor, Brass Helmet and Bag are separate claims.
- Keep Key 4601 after finishing; it remains useful for returning to the room or helping another player reach it.
- Use the sewer immediately if another player closes the stone while you are inside.
