Fibula Access Quest

Part 1 — Reach Fibula

The access quest begins in the village south-west of Thais.

• 800 gp for Simon OR 2,000 gp for Dermot
• 1.00 oz free capacity
• One free inventory position

1. Leave Thais through the southern routes and continue toward Fibula, the small village on the south-western peninsula.
2. There is no level gate, vocation requirement, party requirement or Premium requirement for this access.
3. Before speaking to either NPC, decide which price you want to pay. Both routes award exactly the same Key 3940.
4. Do not confuse this key with Key 3980 from the Deeper Fibula Quest. Key 3940 is the basic dungeon entrance key.

• Simon is located on the southern coast of Fibula.
• Dermot is inside the village area.
• You may buy additional keys later by repeating either purchase.

Part 2A — Simon the Beggar (800 gp)

The cheapest and historically characteristic route uses three consecutive payments.

• 100 gp
• 500 gp
• 200 gp

1. Approach Simon the Beggar and say hi.
2. Say help. Simon asks for 100 gold pieces.
3. Say yes. He removes 100 gp and immediately continues to the next request.
4. Say yes again when he asks for 500 gp. He removes 500 gp and advances to the final offer.
5. Say yes a third time when he asks for 200 gp for the dungeon key.
6. After the final successful payment, Simon gives one Wooden Key with number 3940.
7. The complete sequence is: hi → help → yes → yes → yes. Total cost: 800 gp.

• Do not say help again between the three yes answers; simply answer each current question.
• If you lack money at one stage, no later stage should advance. Obtain the missing gold and restart the conversation if necessary.
• With insufficient capacity or no inventory room at the final step, the key is not delivered and the final 200 gp is not lost.

Part 2B — Dermot (2,000 gp)

A faster but more expensive direct purchase.

• 2,000 gp

1. Approach Dermot in Fibula and say hi.
2. Say key or door. Dermot offers the dungeon key for 2,000 gp.
3. Say yes. With sufficient money, capacity and inventory room, he gives one Wooden Key 3940.
4. This route skips Simon's three donations but costs 1,200 gp more.

• Dermot and Simon sell the same key.
• You do not need to complete Simon's route before buying from Dermot.
• Dermot can sell another key later if you pay again.

Part 3 — Descend through the Fibula well

The key is used on the internal dungeon door, not on the well itself.

• Wooden Key 3940

1. Return to the well in Fibula village.
2. Use the well to descend into the upper entrance section of Fibula Dungeon.
3. The well does not require the key, so a player may descend even when the inner door is closed.
4. Defeat or avoid the Poison Spiders near the entrance and continue to the locked wooden door.

• The door may already be open if another player used it.
• Do not assume an open door will remain open; carry your own key for the return trip.

Part 4 — Use Key 3940 on the dungeon door

The physical key controls the matching wooden door.

• Wooden Key 3940

1. Stand beside the closed wooden door inside the Fibula Dungeon entrance.
2. Use the Wooden Key 3940, then click the closed door.
3. The door opens and allows passage. The key is not consumed.
4. To lock the door again, use the same key on the matching open door according to the client's normal key-use behavior.
5. Keep the key in your inventory or backpack while exploring. It works from both sides of the matching door.

• A key with another number, including Key 3980, does not open this door.
• No storage, Quest Log stage or level is checked by the door; the physical key number is the requirement.
• Passing the door completes the practical access objective.

Part 5 — After gaining access

The basic key opens the route toward Fibula hunting grounds and the deeper quest area.

1. Beyond the door, continue through the dungeon only if your level and supplies are appropriate for the monsters ahead.
2. For the deeper locked sections and the classic level 50 reward quest, follow the separate Deeper Fibula Quest page.
3. Store a spare Key 3940 in your depot if desired, or repeat the purchase whenever another key is needed.

• The Fibula Access Quest itself gives no experience, outfit, achievement or Quest Points.
• The reward is the reusable key and the access it provides.
