Requirements

  • Free Account characters may complete the quest; Premium Account is not required.
  • Level 35 is required to pass the experience door in the final mine section. Level 45+ is recommended for safer Giant Spider combat.
  • You need one Old and Used Backpack obtained from the rare Orc spawn in the north-eastern Orc Fortress area.
  • Bring a melee weapon or a Fire Bug to destroy the spider webs blocking the final route.
  • Bring a Rope for the Dwarf Mine route and for a safe return through rope spots.
  • Carry strong healing, mana supplies and suitable protection for Dwarf Guards and Giant Spiders.
  • Keep one free inventory slot and at least 130 oz of capacity for the Dwarven Armor.
  • Empty the Old and Used Backpack before confirming the hand-in to Sam. Sam removes the entire container and anything left inside it.

The Old and Used Backpack is a normal 20-slot container weighing 18.00 oz, but only the correctly labelled quest backpack is accepted by Sam.The backpack is not a common Orc drop. It comes from one special rare Orc spawn in the north-eastern Orc Fortress area.The rare Orc looks and is named like a normal Orc. Quest Notes

Recover Sam's Old and Used Backpack from a rare Orc in the north-eastern section of Ulderek's Rock, return it to Sam in Thais, obtain permission from Kroox in Kazordoon and enter the Giant Spider tunnels below the Pick 'N Shovel Mine to claim one Dwarven Armor. The Dathoria implementation follows the classic Tibia 8.0 chain with the backpack, both NPC conversations, a level 35 gate and a one-time reward.

Objective: Loot the Old and Used Backpack from the special rare Orc, return exactly one backpack to Sam after emptying it, tell Kroox that Sam sent you, follow the Pick 'N Shovel Mine route, pass the level 35 and permission checks, break the spider webs and collect one Dwarven Armor.

Walkthrough

  1. Travel to Ulderek's Rock, also known as Orc Fortress, and reach the north-eastern surface section near 32981, 31740, 7.
  2. Look for the rare Orc assigned to this location. It appears as an ordinary Orc, but its corpse contains the Old and Used Backpack.
  3. Loot the Old and Used Backpack and inspect it. The description must identify it as the property of Sam in Thais.
  4. Empty every item from the backpack, then travel to Sam in Thais at his weapon and armor shop.
  5. Say hi, then old backpack. Confirm yes when Sam asks whether you found it.
  6. Sam warns that he will throw away everything inside. Confirm yes again only after checking that the backpack is empty.
  7. After Sam removes one backpack, travel to Kroox in Kazordoon and say hi, followed by sam sent me.
  8. Kroox explains that no Dwarven Armor is in stock and grants permission to retrieve one from the mines.
  9. Go to the Pick 'N Shovel Mine entrance near 32550, 31987, 7. Descend, walk east and descend through the first nearby holes.
  10. Follow the long underground passage west and descend again. Continue north to another hole, descend, then travel east and descend once more.
  11. Continue north until you reach the experience door. Only characters of level 35 or higher can pass.
  12. Descend beyond the door and prepare for Giant Spiders. Destroy the blocking spider webs with a melee weapon or Fire Bug.
  13. Fight or carefully pass the Giant Spiders, then use the sealed quest door authorized by Kroox.
  14. Reach the final reward chest with at least one free inventory slot and 130 oz of capacity, then use it to receive one Dwarven Armor.
  15. If the armor cannot be delivered because of capacity or space, free inventory space and use the chest again. The quest completes only after successful delivery.

Part 1 — Rare Orc in Ulderek's Rock

The quest starts with a rare spawn, not with an NPC.

  1. Travel to the north-eastern surface section of Orc Fortress near 32981, 31740, 7.
  2. Search for the special Orc at this rare spawn. Its visible name and appearance are the same as a normal Orc.
  3. Kill it and inspect the corpse. Take the Old and Used Backpack, item ID 3960.
  4. Look at the backpack and confirm the label Property of Sam, Thais.
  5. The spawn is intentionally rare. If the Orc is absent, another player may already have killed it and you must wait for its respawn.

  • Normal Orcs elsewhere do not provide the quest backpack.
  • The backpack may be traded between players; the character returning it to Sam receives the quest progression.

Part 2 — Return the backpack to Sam

Two confirmations protect the contents of the container.

  6. Reach the experience door and pass it with a level 35 or higher character.
  7. Descend beyond the door and prepare for the Giant Spider section.

  • This route shares the deeper Dwarf Mine region used by the Crusader Helmet route.
  • Do not enter without a Rope and enough supplies for the return journey.

Part 5 — Spider webs and Dwarven Armor

Break the obstruction, survive the Giant Spiders and use the authorized reward chest.

  1. Destroy the spider webs blocking the tunnel with a melee weapon or Fire Bug.
  2. Advance carefully through the Giant Spider cave. Several Giant Spiders inhabit the area and three may be encountered on the normal route.
  3. Reach the sealed permission door and use it after completing the Kroox dialogue.
  4. Continue to the final chest and make sure you have one free inventory slot and at least 130 oz of capacity.
  5. Use the chest to receive one Dwarven Armor.
  6. If the item is not delivered because of space or capacity, reorganize your inventory and use the chest again.

  • Use Look on the backpack before travelling to Thais. A normal backpack is not accepted.
  • Move every valuable item out of the quest backpack before saying the second yes to Sam.
  • Write down the phrase sam sent me exactly; asking Kroox only about armor does not replace the referral phrase.
  • Carry more than 130 oz of free capacity so loot collected from the Giant Spiders does not leave you unable to receive the armor.
  • The rare Orc may be camped. Check the north-eastern spawn after server saves and revisit it later if it is absent.
  • Do not confuse the permission door with the level 35 experience door: both conditions must be satisfied.
