A classic beginner quest below Rookgaard Academy. Follow the underground passage near the resting room, use the lever-controlled route and open the reward chest to receive one Torch. The reward is personal and can be collected once by each character.
Objective: Reach the small underground reward room near the resting room and use the Torch Quest chest once.
Walkthrough
- Enter Rookgaard Academy and go downstairs toward the resting room area.
- Follow the northern underground passage and open the ordinary doors along the route.
- Use the nearby lever when the passage is closed, then continue into the small reward section.
- Kill or avoid the Rat and go to the Torch Quest chest at Open in Interactive Atlas.
- Use the chest once. With enough capacity and inventory space, you receive one Torch.
- Confirm the Torch entered your inventory. Further uses by the same character show that the chest is empty.

Complete step-by-step
- Enter Rookgaard Academy and descend to the basement level where the resting room is located.
- Take the northern passage and continue through the normal doors.
- If the route is blocked, use the lever controlling the passage and cross while it is open.
- Continue to the small room containing a Rat and the reward chest.
- Open the Torch Quest chest Open in Interactive Atlas to receive one Torch.
- Check your inventory before leaving. The quest is completed only after the item is delivered successfully.
Important route notes
- The quest can be completed once per character and does not interfere with any Small Axe Quest.
- If you do not have enough capacity or inventory space, make room and use the chest again; a failed delivery must not consume the reward.
- The Rat is the only expected creature in the final room.
