Shared Experience
Team hunting on Dathoria: a carefully selected post-8.0 mechanic implemented to improve cooperative gameplay while preserving the classic experience.
Shared Experience on Dathoria

Shared Experience did not exist in the original Tibia 8.0. It was introduced after the 8.0 era. Dathoria intentionally implements a classic, restrained version of the system because it makes team hunts fairer and more enjoyable, especially for players whose role is blocking or healing rather than dealing most of the damage.

Why we implemented it

Without Shared Experience, a blocker or dedicated healer can contribute heavily to a hunt while receiving very little experience. Dathoria uses Shared Experience to reward active teamwork without turning party hunting into a modern bonus system.

Classic approach

The system follows the early Shared Experience concept: eligible party members split monster experience equally when all participation requirements are met.

No modern vocation bonus

Dathoria does not add modern percentage bonuses for having different vocations in the party. Shared Experience redistributes eligible experience; it does not create an additional vocation multiplier.

How to Activate Shared Experience
StepWhat to do
1. Create a partyInvite the players who will hunt together and make sure they have joined the party.
2. Party LeaderOnly the party leader can enable or disable Shared Experience.
3. Leave battleThe leader must be outside battle before enabling Shared Experience.
4. Enable itAs party leader, right-click your own character and select Enable Shared Experience.
5. Watch the party shieldsThe party shields indicate whether Shared Experience is active or whether one or more requirements are currently not being met.
No command is required. Shared Experience is integrated into the normal party interface of the Dathoria client.
Eligibility Requirements

Shared Experience only becomes active while every party member satisfies the required conditions. If one condition stops being valid, sharing becomes temporarily inactive until the party meets the requirements again.

RequirementDathoria rule
Level rangeThe lowest-level member must have at least two-thirds (2/3) of the level of the highest-level member.
Horizontal distanceEach member must remain within 30 SQMs of the party leader.
FloorsMembers may be on the leader's floor or up to one floor above or below.
Active participationEach member must actively participate in the hunt. Participation remains valid for 120 seconds.
Monster combatDealing valid damage to a hostile monster counts as participation.
Supporting the partyHealing another party member, or an eligible summon belonging to a party member, counts as participation.
Level Range Examples

The rule is based on the highest-level member of the party. The lowest member must be at least two-thirds of that level.

Highest levelApproximate minimum levelExample
3020Level 20 + Level 30: eligible
6040Level 40 + Level 60: eligible
7550Level 49 + Level 75: not eligible
150100Level 100 + Level 150: eligible
300200Level 200 + Level 300: eligible
How Experience Is Divided

When Shared Experience is enabled and active, eligible monster experience is divided equally between the eligible party members. Individual damage is no longer used to decide how much each active party member receives from that shared kill.

ExampleShared result
Monster grants 1,000 XP; 2 eligible members500 XP for each member before normal server-rate calculations.
Monster grants 1,200 XP; 3 eligible members400 XP for each member before normal server-rate calculations.
Knight blocks, Sorcerer deals most damage, Druid healsIf all three satisfy the activity and range requirements, the eligible experience is shared equally.
No extra party multiplier: Dathoria's Shared Experience does not grant 20%, 30%, 60%, 100% or any other modern vocation-combination bonus.
When Shared Experience Becomes Inactive

Too far from the leader

If a member leaves the allowed 30-SQM range, Shared Experience becomes unavailable until the required distance is restored.

Wrong floor

Moving more than one floor above or below the party leader makes the member ineligible for Shared Experience.

Level difference

If the party no longer satisfies the two-thirds level rule, Shared Experience cannot remain active.

No recent participation

If a member has not attacked a hostile monster or provided qualifying healing within 120 seconds, that member becomes inactive for sharing.

Automatic recovery

When the missing requirement is satisfied again, the system can return to the active shared state without rebuilding the party.

Visual feedback

The party shields help show whether the party currently has active Shared Experience or whether the requirements are not being fulfilled.

What Shared Experience Does Not Do
Vocation bonusNo. Combining Knight, Paladin, Sorcerer and Druid does not create an additional experience percentage.
AFK sharingNo. Simply standing near the party is not enough; active participation is required.
Unlimited level rangeNo. The two-thirds level requirement always applies while Shared Experience is active.
Unlimited distanceNo. Members must remain within the required range of the leader.
PvP experience sharingNo. Shared Experience is designed for eligible monster experience, not as a way to redistribute PvP experience.
Why This Is Different from Tibia 8.0

Dathoria is based on the Tibia 8.0 experience, but not every deliberate gameplay decision is limited to features that existed on the exact 8.0 client date. Shared Experience is one of Dathoria's selected quality-of-life exceptions. It was not part of Tibia 8.0, and we state that openly.

We chose to implement it because classic team hunts can otherwise punish support roles: a Knight may spend the hunt blocking and a Druid may spend the hunt healing while the main damage dealer receives most of the experience. Shared Experience allows those players to progress together when they are all actively contributing.

At the same time, Dathoria intentionally avoids the later, more generous Shared Experience bonuses. The goal is to improve cooperative gameplay without changing the old-school progression philosophy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Was Shared Experience in Tibia 8.0?

No. It was introduced after Tibia 8.0. Dathoria uses it as a deliberate gameplay improvement.

Who activates it?

Only the party leader. Right-click your own character and choose Enable Shared Experience.

Do all members receive the same XP?

When Shared Experience is active and the requirements are satisfied, eligible monster experience is divided equally.

Does healing count?

Yes. Qualifying healing of a party member or eligible party summon counts toward active participation.

Is there a four-vocation bonus?

No. Dathoria deliberately does not use the later vocation-combination Shared Experience bonuses.

What if someone stops participating?

After the 120-second participation window expires, Shared Experience becomes inactive until that member contributes again.
